Are you an adult looking to explore the world of ballet in Colorado Springs? Look no further than the Colorado Conservatory of Dance (CCD). Our adult classes are designed to suit a busy schedule, with a range of classes from the fundamentals of ballet to advanced technique. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced dancer, we have something for everyone. At CCD, our adult program runs year-round, with breaks for Labor Day, Thanksgiving, winter break, spring break, Memorial Day, and July 4th. We offer a variety of classes and schedules to fit your needs.
Our classes are open to the public and are mixed, with students over 16 years old welcome to join. Younger students may be able to attend on a case-by-case basis. Our adult classes include classical ballet, contemporary dance, musical theater dance, tap dancing, jazz, hip hop, worship dance and more. We also offer one-on-one classes for those who prefer a more flexible approach. Sign up for unlimited classes or take advantage of our one-on-one classes. At CCD, we have something for everyone.
Our Preballet class teaches basic concepts of movement and dance such as spatial awareness, rhythm and gross motor skills. We also offer Lyric A3 for those who have completed one year of Ballet A3 or Ballet Teen. For those who have completed at least one year of Ballet B1 and have instructor approval, we offer Ballet B2. Point A is open to those who are at least 12 years old and have passed the points exam carried out by the instructor. For those who have taken at least one year of Pointe A and have instructor approval, we offer Pointe B ballet technique classes. Pointe C ballet technique classes are available for those who have taken at least one year of Pointe B and have instructor approval.
We also offer Variations classes which are designed for learning classical ballet choreographies and require at least Ballet B1 or higher. Character dance is an integral part of ballet training and is a specific subdivision of classical ballet. At CCD we partner with several local social service agencies to make our programming accessible to all. Whether you have prior experience in ballet or not, our adult classes are open to everyone. At the Grand Rapids Ballet (GRB), we offer classes for adults as well as adorable young children. Our classes start with a full bar before going to the center and are based on a specific cultural style.
When children start practicing ballet at an early age they not only learn a valuable art form but also become empowered for life. We also collaborate with other musicians such as Bruce who is currently writing music for Danse Etoile Ballet.
