Performance Opportunities
We provide exceptional, high-quality performing opportunities for our students.
Pre-School Ballet Gala Celebration
Pre-School Ballet students are invited to perform for friends and family in a celebration of their accomplishments at the end of the season. Our youngest performers gain their first back-stage and on-stage experience in a short, entertaining show in the BNC Performance Theatre, followed by a celebration with friends, family and teachers.
Gala
All students in Ballet I through F are invited to perform in our professionally-produced Gala at the end of the season. More than just a recital, Gala gives students invaluable experience in a professional production environment, while showcasing these dancers’ technical accomplishments and performing skills.
The Nutcracker
Students ages 7+ who meet summer training requirements and who have performed in at least 2 Galas (or equivalent) may audition for roles in our annual production of The Nutcracker. Students have an unforgettable experience performing alongside our professional company in the area’s largest holiday production that has won rave reviews from critics and audiences. Auditions are in late August; rehearsals begin in early September. Contract required.
Student Company
Established in 1992, our Student Company gives upper level students significant performing opportunities throughout the year, including an annual spring concert presented to the public in May. Students who have completed at least one year in Ballet D and have met Nutcracker summer training requirements may join the Student Company. Auditions are in August; rehearsals begin in early September. Contract required.
Young Choreographers' Showcase
Presented in May, our Young Choreographers’ Showcase is the culminating production for the Composition class. Students create pieces and set them on fellow dancers, incorporating all elements of production, including costume and lighting design. Students in Ballet E and above may take Composition and participate in the Young Choreographers’ Showcase.
Professional Productions
Being attached to the second largest professional ballet company in Colorado presents many advantages for the students of our school, including opportunities to participate in professional productions. As outlined above, students 7 and older may audition to perform in The Nutcracker. Advanced students may be invited by the Artistic Director to dance roles in additional shows or to become Trainees to the Company. In addition, younger students may be invited to dance minor roles where needed in specific productions.
