Amy Martin is a dance teacher, choreographer and performer. She has performed with regional dance companies and presented her own choreography in the U.S. and abroad. In 2001, Amy traveled to San Jose, Costa Rica where she was presented by the Promising Artists of the 21st Century Program as a featured performer and guest artist with the contemporary dance company Danza ABEND. In August of 2003, she was one of seven American choreographers chosen to travel to Edinburgh, Scotland with the American Choreographer’s Showcase to perform original work at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Amy has also choreographed for musical theatre, opera and theatre productions. She has taught ballet, modern, jazz and choreography in private dance studios, public schools, women’s prisons and public universities including the University of Colorado and Iowa State University. She has also taught master classes at regional American College Dance Festivals and at the Rocky Mountain Theatre Festivention. In 2002 Amy received an award for teaching excellence from the Graduate School of the University of Colorado, and was recognized in the 2005 edition of Who’s Who Among American Teachers. She holds a BFA in Dance from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and an MFA in Dance from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
